BATU PAHAT: Umno supreme council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi said last night’s Umno supreme council meeting had decided that Barisan Nasional would join the unity government or any other form of government.

He said it was the first time he had attended an Umno supreme council meeting until 1.00 a.m., adding that almost all supreme council members voiced up during the meeting.

He said Umno was very serious and democratic and the supreme council finally made a unanimous decision through consultation.

“At the Umno headquarters lobby, reporters asked me whether it would be PH or PN. The answer is very simple. PN has rejected a unity government while GPS has agreed to abide by the King’s decree.”

Mohd Puad also said the Perak and Pahang state governments had provided the best clue, and for sure it wouldn’t be PN.

He said Umno would explain the decision to other BN component parties and that MCA and MIC must accept this decision.
