KAJANG, Dec 27 (Sin Chew Daily) — Dong Zong's Chinese Organisations Joint Congress scheduled for tomorrow afternoon has to be cancelled.

From the information made available to Sin Chew Daily, the police have applied for a court order to stop the congress.

Dong Zong's chief executive officer Leong Seng Yee confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that the association had been notified by the police, and later received the court order at 5.00 p.m.

“We received the call from the police at 4.30 p.m. They said they would send in the court order later.”

Leong said Dong Zong would make an announcement later whether to cancel or proceed with the congress after consulting its legal advisors.

Meanwhile, Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that the police had secured the court order to stop the Chinese Organisations Joint Congress scheduled for tomorrow.

“The police will issue a statement on this matter soon.”
