KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 (Sin Chew Daily) — Graduan Malaysia urges the government to seriously look into the outcome of the latest Merdeka Center survey, and take prompt actions to address the public woes, in particular the economy.

Its president Lee Seang Hock said in a statement today that according to the report, 61% of Malaysians feel that the country is heading in the wrong direction. He said this is a very serious issue, and when more than half of the people feel that the country is heading in the wrong direction, the government must do something about it.

“We see that our leaders seem to be immersed in the feel-good atmosphere. Almost two years in power now, the Pakatan Harapan government has failed to let the people see the new government's direction.

“Many people feel that during the past 20 months, the government has not done what it should do but what it should not.”

Lee urged the government to give priority to issues such as escalating living expenses, inflation, low income, unemployment and ringgit depreciation.
