Teo: PISMP-UEC course to continue
PETALING JAYA, Feb 20 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Deputy education minister Teo Nie Ching said prime minister cum acting education minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had given the approval for teacher training colleges to continue with PISMP-UEC course for Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) holders.
She told Sin Chew Daily the PISMP-UEC course would continue so that UEC holders can have the opportunity to become civil servants.
The course, which started in 2011, is the only channel for UEC holders to become civil servants in the country.
In addition to UEC holders, the PISMP course is also offered to holders of Sijil Menengah Agama (SMA) and Sijil Menengah Ugama (SMU).
