PETALING JAYA (Sin Chew Daily) — Organized jointly by Sin Chew Daily and MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd, the second edition of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is hosted to show appreciation for the exceptional performances of emerging SMEs in the country.

Among the many SMEs showing keen interest to take part in this year's event are Orando Holdings Sdn Bhd, Pembinaan Bina Bumi Sdn Bhd, Shellys Marketing Sdn Bhd, Exis Tech Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Wen Ken Drug Sdn Bhd whose representatives handed over their nomination papers to the Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards working committee chairman Lenny Cheah at Sin Chew Daily headquarters in Petaling Jaya this morning.

Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is exclusively sponsored by CIMB Bank. Supporting partners of the Sin Chew Business Awards include the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Small Medium Industry Association of Malaysia (SMIAM), Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA), Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Branding Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia and JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCIKLM).

First-time contestant, Pembinaan Bina Bumi Sdn Bhd's executive director said the company had been experiencing steady growth in recent years and he felt this event would be highly beneficial to lift the company's market branding.

Syarikat Wen Ken Drug Sdn Bhd also takes part in Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards for the first time this year. Established since 1937, the company has carved a sound reputation in the industry in Southeast Asia.

The company's marketing manager told Sin Chew Daily the awards would help participating companies gain broader industrial acceptance.

Exis Tech Sdn Bhd's human resources management executive said this is the first time the company has taken part in this event while second-timer Shellys Marketing reaffirmed that Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards would help boost the participating companies' branding and market acceptance.

Other than boosting a company's branding, Orando Holdings' executive director asserted that the event would help more people know about Chinese businesses in the country.
