KLANG (Sin Chew Daily) — Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Dr Leong Kai Hin said Sin Chew Business Awards is the best platform for local SMEs to promote their brands. He encouraged successful local businesses in Klang Valley to actively take part in this year's awards.

He said there are many successful local businesses in Klang Valley and their operational philosophies could be further promoted through the Sin Chew Business Awards. This will not only help boost their company images but will also offer them a unique opportunity to share their experiences with other businesses.

There are more than a thousand small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Klang alone, and some of them have already evolved into successful large corporations or even multinational companies.

During a ceremony to hand over the nomination forms for Sin Chew Business Awards 2014, Leong said Sin Chew Business Awards is a very meaningful event that will encourage local businesses to emulate the successful examples of the award winners in enhancing their own corporate management systems.

Companies need strong competitiveness for sustained operation in the increasingly globalized business environment, he added.

"We strongly encourage businesses in Klang to actively take part in this award and make use of this unique opportunity to review their own abilities to compete with other businesses in this country."

Meanwhile, the working committee chairman of Sin Chew Business Awards Lenny Cheah said there are many successful companies that have been in operation for several generations, and that these are the ones local businesses should emulate.

She said many of these companies started from very humble beginnings but through decades of hard work, some have evolved into successful large corporations.

"As what I understand, there are many successful businesses in Klang. I hope these companies will take part in Sin Chew Business Awards and share their valuable experiences with others."
