SMEs urged to participate in Sin Chew Business Awards

KUALA LUMPUR (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA) president Datuk Liaw Choon Liang urges local entrepreneurs to actively take part in the Sin Chew Business Awards and make good use of this unique platform to further enhance their brand images.

Seah Siew Yun, senior executive director of Grant Thornton Malaysia will also share with the public issues pertaining to the GST and how companies should tackle it, during the seminar.

IN addition, CIMB Bank will also arrange a guest speaker from its Global Sales, FX & Transaction Banking Department to share with the participants the latest information on financing.

The organizers have also made arrangements for Sin Chew Business Awards working committee chairman Ms Lenny Cheah, who is also the general manager (marketing and sales) of MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd, to give a detailed account of the awards, including the various categories of awards, eligibility for participation and rules and regulations, among others.

Grant Thornton partner Desmond Tan will also explain to the public the selection procedures and criteria for the Sin Chew Business Awards.

The second Sin Chew Business Awards is organized jointly by Sin Chew Daily and MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd, both under Sin Chew Media Corporation. CIMB Bank is the exclusive sponsor of this event while the Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA) is its supporting partner.

The other supporting partners include the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Small Medium Industry Association of Malaysia (SMIAM), Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Branding Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia and JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCIKLM).

Grant Thornton Malaysia is the auditor of this event.

The other event partners include Fine Paper Takeo Sdn Bhd, Skynet and Setia City Convention Centre.
