IPOH (Sin Chew Daily) — CS International Sdn Bhd is the first company in Ipoh to introduce a departmental store concept to markets its wide range of more than 50,000 types of bathroom and kitchen products to retailers.

CS International's director Wong Cheong Loong started the company six years ago with a unique new way of marketing his products. Since then the company's business has been growing from strength to strength.

He recently visited Sin Chew Daily's headquarters in Petaling Jaya to hand in his nomination forms for Product & Service Quality Excellence Award category.

He told Sin Chew Daily this was the first time the company took part in Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards in hope of assessing the company's strength through the award even.

He said a recognition from Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards would significantly boost the company's self worth while picking up inspiration from other successful companies and notable entrepreneurs to further improve the company.

Wong took over his father's hardware business at the age of 19, but he felt the modus operandi of traditional hardware shops would not be able to provide more convenient and people-friendly services to the customers.

Consequently, Wong has been traveling abroad regularly to get inspiration and has been remarkably impressed by the trolley shopping of hardware products overseas.

Wong started his own business in 2005, specializing in high quality and fashionable bathroom products.

Closing date for Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is June 15. SMEs in the country are urged to hand in their nomination forms as soon as possible.

Located in Tasek industrial estate, Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, the 1-acre site of CS International Sdn Bhd offers spacious showroom for retailers to browse its wide range of products.

As for after-sale services, the company offers free mail delivery of damaged parts during the warranty period. Customers will also be taught how to change the parts through pre-recorded videos.

Wong said the company is facing severe challenges following the implementation of GST. However, he insists to provide superior quality of products and caring after-sale services to the customers.
