KUALA LUMPUR (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Retailers Association president Tan Sri William Cheng said the Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards should serve as an encouragement for local entrepreneurs, allowing them to keep upgrading themselves in order to put up better performance.

During a nomination form handover ceremony here this morning, Cheng urged the association's members to actively take part in the awards event in a bid to enhance their own branding while seeking opportunities to expand their businesses to oversea markets.

He said this was the first time the association had worked with Sin Chew Daily to be a supporting partner since the business awards was established three years ago.

Meanwhile, Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards working committee chairman Lenny Chiah hoped local businesses with long-established brands would take part in the awards event.

"Such businesses are very rare and I hope they will take part in this contest so that the public could witness together their glorious achievements."

Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is now open for nomination with the deadline set at June 15. There are a total of eight categories, namely Lifetime Excellence Achievement Award, Business Excellence Person of the Year Award, Business Sustainability Excellence Award, Retail Excellence Award, Product & Service Quality Excellence Award, CSR Excellence Award, Property Excellence Award, and Young / Emerging Business Excellence Award.
