JOHOR BAHRU (Sin Chew Daily) — The Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards roadshow will descend on Johor Bahru on March 19, with a talk at Berjaya Waterfront Hotel Johor Bahru's 6th floor exhibition hall at 10.00 a.m.

Organized by Sin Chew Daily and MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd, the third edition of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards will see CIMB Bank as its exclusive sponsor.

Among the supporting partners of this event are: Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Small Medium Industry Association of Malaysia (SMIAM), Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA), Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Branding Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia and JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCIKLM).

Grant Thornton Malaysia senior executive director Seah Siew Yun will be talking about the upcoming GST during the talk while CIMB Bank representative will deliver a talk on "Global Marketing, Forex and Transaction Banking."

Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards working committee chairman Lenny Chiah, who is also MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd's General Manager for sales and marketing, will touch on the categories of the awards as well as eligibility, rules and regulations, evaluation criteria, among others.

Grant Thornton Malaysia partner Desmond Tan will further brief the participants on the evaluation criteria of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards.

The theme for Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is "Innovation, Transformation, Sustainability." The event objective is to show appreciation for exceptional SMEs in Malaysia while encouraging them to participate more actively in nation-building process.

Participation is through invitation and nomination and the awards will be divided into eight different categories, namely: Lifetime Excellence Achievement Award, Business Excellence Person of the Year Award, Business Sustainability Excellence Award, Retail Excellence Award, Product & Service Quality Excellence Award, CSR Excellence Award, Property Excellence Award, and Young / Emerging Business Excellence Award..

Registration for this year's awards will open from April to June 15.
