PETALING JAYA — The 2016 Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is now open for registration. The deadline for registration is June 15, 2016. SMEs in Malaysia are encouraged to take part in the annual event.

Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards is jointly organized by Sin Chew Daily and MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd with CIMB Bank as its exclusive sponsor for a fourth year running.

Among the supporting partners are the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Small Medium Industry Association of Malaysia (SMIAM), Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA), Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Branding Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA) and the National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom).

Grant Thornton Malaysia is the event auditor while other partners include Fine Paper Takeo Sdn Bhd, Skynet and Setia City Convention Center.

MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd chief executive cum Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad general manager (IT) Keu Tien Siong said a new category — Digital and Technology Business Excellence Award — had been added this year to encourage SMEs in the IT sector to take part.

The 2016 Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards will be divided into the following nine categories:

– Business Excellence Person of the Year
– Business Sustainability Excellence Award
– Retail Excellence Award
– Product & Service Quality Excellence Award
– CSR Excellence Award
– Property Excellence Award
– Young / Emerging Business Excellence Award
