SHAH ALAM — CIMB Commercial Banking chief executive Yong Jiunn Run said CIMB Bank had been the exclusive sponsor of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards since its inception in 2013.

He said it was a both a delight and honor to be working with Sin Chew, adding that he was reassured Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards had been able to achieve such a high level within a relatively short time.

"Other than the principal sponsor, we are also sharing CIMB's professional knowhow when it comes to evaluating the participants."

He said along the way he had made the unexpected discovery of the innovation and progress of Malaysian SMEs.

Yong told Sin Chew Daily after he visited CIMB's business partners in other Asean countries, he could say for sure that Malaysian SMEs could compare with the crème de la crème of regional companies.

He had high regards for Sin Chew Daily for bringing out the exceptional success stories of Malaysian SMEs through the business awards, and hoped other companies could draw some inspiration from the award winners in order to attain greater success.

He also said CIMB as one of the largest commercial bank in Southeast Asia had the obligation to witness the transformation of businesses in Malaysia and the Asean region.
