Police action against eateries flouting movement control order

KUCHING, Mar 18 (Sin Chew Daily) — Despite the movement control order that comes into effect from today, many people are still seen gathering and chatting at coffee shops in Sarawak.

Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail reminded the public not to dine in at coffee shops or restaurants while F&B operators were urged to conform to the movement control order or face police action.

Datuk Aidi told Sin Chew Daily the police had noted that some eateries continued to allow customers to eat at their premises this morning.

He said it was impossible for the police to conduct checks on all eateries, adding that members of the public should report eateries that flout the order.
