PUTRAJAYA, Mar 20 (Sin Chew Daily) — Ministry of defence senior minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that the military would assist the police to enforce the movement control order beginning Sunday to ensure that Malaysians comply with the order.

However he said the government had no plans to declare a state of emergency at this juncture.

He said in a press conference that the decision had been made in today's national security council meeting.

Stricter enforcement would be implemented if the people refuse to comply with the order, he added.
