PETALING JAYA, Mar 24 (Sin Chew Daily) — The Chinese Embassy and China Communications Construction ECRL Malaysia have donated more than 20,000 items of medical supplies to the ministry of health.

Chinese Ambassador Bai Tian, CCC-ECRL managing director Bai Yinzhan and ministry of health secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min attended a ceremony to mark the donation of supplies.

Ambassador Bai said he felt sad learning of the shortage of medical supplies in Malaysian hospitals and that some of the healthcare personnel even had to make their own protective gear due to the acute shortage.

China has donated 5,000 pieces of N95 face masks, 20,000 pieces of surgical masks and 1,200 medical safety goggles to the ministry of health Malaysia.
