PKR: PH parties can still work together

PETALING JAYA, June 22 (Sin Chew Daily) – A PKR leader who prefers to remain anonymous told Sin Chew Daily despite their differences over the "Mahathir-Anwar" combo issue, the three Pakatan Harapan parties will continue to work together.

"DAP and Amanah used to believe Mahathir could get enough support to form a new government.

"They applied pressure on PKR. Indeed, both sides get hurt but this is not enough to bring about PH's collapse."

The PKR leader also said his party has decided not to support Tun Mahathir as prime minister while an official statement has already been issued.

"We can be opposition if we don't have the numbers, and will prepare ourselves for the next general election."

A source told Sin Chew Daily Anwar Ibrahim has yet to consider holding a PH presidential council meeting very soon, probably only after a certain "cooling period".

The source also said Anwar had met GPS president and Sarawak chief minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari in Kuching last Wednesday but was not sure of the outcome of the meeting.

"He is still trying to get the support of other MPs, including those from GPS."
