PUTRAJAYA, Aug 21 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of nine new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including four imported cases.

Of the five locally transmitted cases, three were from the Tawar cluster in Kedah, while two others are from Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur.

To date there are a cumulative total of 9,249 confirmed cases and 8,945 recoveries (including 13 discharged today) at 96.71% recovery rate.

No new death has been reported.

There are currently 179 active cases, including seven at ICUs, four requiring ventilators.
