Second COVID-19 test shows false positive for Subang student

PETALING JAYA, Sept 1 (Sin Chew Daily) — The result of second COVID-19 test of a Subang Chinese primary school pupil is false positive, says the school PTA chairman Huang Gui Hao.

Hence, teachers and pupils in the school are not required to undergo self-isolation.

The school has sent a message through WhatsApp to the school's board of directors, teachers, parents and those related to the school that the second COVID-19 screening result of the year two pupil whose entire family visited Sarawak was false positive.

The pupil's family went back to East Malaysia on August 4 and, and were back in Selangor on August 17.

The message said teachers and pupils in 2W class are not required to undergo screening and quarantine.

The school will operate as normal in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs), according to the WhatsApp message.

The school also said all parties are required to abide by the SOPs to look after one another's health.

The health and education authorities have earlier alerted the school after five of the pupil family members tested positive for COVID-19.
