KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Sin Chew Daily) – DAP's annual general assembly will go ahead as scheduled later this year, meaning Lim Guan Eng's tenure as party secretary-general will expire then.

National organizing secretary Anthony Loke and deputy sec-gen Nga Kor Ming are the most likely candidates to take over him.

A DAP leader told Sin Chew Daily the party had earlier made the request to the Registrar of Societies to defer the general assembly scheduled for this year to middle of next year because of the movement control order (MCO).

"However, the RoS rejected our request several days ago. In other words, our general assembly will proceed as scheduled later this year.

"RoS wanted us to hold the assembly by this December."
