Japanese envoy delivers Malaysia Day wish in Malay

PETALING JAYA, Sept 17 (Sin Chew Daily) — Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Oka Hiroshi wishes Malaysians a happy Malaysia Day in fluent Malay!

The embassy in Malaysia posted on its Facebook page the visuals of Ambassador Oka's wish in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

Also included in the visual was the footage of embassy staff learning the Malay language.

Oka spoke in fluent Malay to wish Malaysians a happy Malaysia Day.

"I like Malaysia. All Malaysians are friendly here," he said.

Series of likes were also posted in support of Oka's remark.

Another footage showed embassy officers representing Malaysia and Japan taking questions and providing their reasons of loving Malaysia.

One of them said she liked Malaysian food such as nasi lemak, mee kolok, laksa, fried banana, akok and others.

Another embassy staff said he liked the weather in Malaysia.

Asked whether it was a hot day or a rainy day, the officer said the season in Malaysia could be divided into durian and non-durian seasons.

All embassy staff said they hoped to see Malaysia continue to progress and a closer relationship between Malaysia and Japan.
