LGE to become DAP chairman?

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Sin Chew Daily) – DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng will likely take over the chairman post from Tan Kok Wai in the party elections to be held during the national congress end of this year.

A party insider told Sin Chew Daily there are rumors Tan may vacate his post in favor of Lim, whose tenure as secretary-general will expire soon.

"There are talks within the party that Tan Kok Wai may offer to vacate his post for Lim Guan Eng.

"Tan may in turn be appointed party advisor, like Lim Kit Siang."

A source told Sin Chew Daily DAP is currently focusing on the Sabah state elections, and will only decide on the party election date and other details after the Sabah elections.

Meanwhile, it is almost quite certain that organizing secretary Anthony Loke will take over the secretary-general post from Lim Guan Eng.

It is said that Nga Kor Ming, the other likely candidate for the post, may not have enough support from party delegates.
