PETALING JAYA, Sept 24 (Sin Chew Daily) – Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the fact Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi admitted that many Umno and BN members of parliament had expressed their support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim showed that indeed prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has lost the support of majority MPs to stay in office.

"We all know that Muhyiddin has a very slim majority, He will lose the majority support if just a couple of MPs withdraw their support for him."

He said in a statement today that if what Ahmad Zahid had said was true, Muhyiddin would no longer be able to claim that he still had the majority support of MPs to remain in power.

He said the most important thing now is to confirm whether Muhyiddin still has the majority support before Anwar proves his claim.
