Anwar: More than 120 MPs support unconditionally

PETALING JAYA, Sept 29 (Sin Chew Daily) – Yesterday's Pakatan Harapn presidential council meeting discussed the issue on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's claim that he had the numbers to form the new federal government.

In the meeting, Anwar said there were more than 120 people supporting him unconditionally.

According to a source, Anwar had the list of the MPs supporting him, but leaders attending the meeting did not ask him to show the list.

A PH leader at last night's meeting told Sin Chew Daily DAP and Parti Amanah Negara expressed their views and conditions for the new government, i.e. they would not accept Umno leaders involved in corruption, including former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The leader, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the MPs intending to support Anwar did so unconditionally, without asking for any government or ministerial posts.

"We talked about the conditions for support, and Anwar agreed.

"Pakatan Harapan strives to restore the people's mandate. We will not compromise on our position to uphold justice and reject corruption.

"DAP and Amanah have expressed their stand. We're not going to work with entire party but individual MPs.

"Anwar has the list, but we did not ask to see it. To us, what is most important is the PH principles.

"According to Anwar, there're more than 120 but not including anyone from PAS. As for the exact number of people and list, we have to wait for Anwar to announce officially."
