Tan: DAP refuses to work with Umno

PETALING JAYA, Sept 29 (Sin Chew Daily) – DAP chairman Tan Kok Wai said his party refuses to work with Umno, even if Umno MPs support PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in personal capacity.

Tan said that after Anwar claimed he had the support of majority of MPs to become the country's new prime minister, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said expressly that the party would never work with Umno led by president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He clarified with Sin Chew Daily that DAP did not have any formula for accepting any Umno representative supporting Pakatan Harapan, unless a decision is made by the party.

"DAP does not approve or accept any MP from Umno, unless the party makes a decision supported by the majority.

"So far DAP has not made any decision on whether to accept individual Umno MPs who support Anwar as PM.

"No one requested us to state our position during yesterday's PH presidential council meeting, and we did not state our position either."
