KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Sin Chew Daily) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat communications director Fahmi Fadzil said party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had already written to Yang di-Pertuan Agong and submitted the list of  Members of Parliament supporting him as prime minister.

Fahmi said during an interview with Sin Chew Daily, "I think Anwar mentioned this (submitting the list to the King) in his September 23 press conference."

Additionally, a party leader who prefers anonymity has revealed to Sin Chew Daily that Anwar has approximately 130 MPs supporting him as prime minister.

While most of the MPs are from Umno, he said the list includes also some "unexpected" heavyweight leaders from West Malaysian parties.

However, the source refused to reveal further details, but said the list would not include former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi or any PAS representative.

"We confirm that Anwar has the numbers but we cannot reveal the list right now.

"Just wait for his audience with the King."
