KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 4 (Sin Chew Daily) – Pakatan Harapan leaders met Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun at the Parliament House today seeking to reconvene the parliament.

When contacted by Sin Chew Daily, former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming confirmed that Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other PH leaders had a meeting with the Dewan Rakyat Speaker at 10:30 this morning.

He said the Speaker promised to meet prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin soon to discuss this matter.

Other PH leaders at the meeting were DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.

Nga said the parliament should reconvene soon, now that the national immunization program has been rolled out, the pandemic situation has improved and more and more economic sectors are allowed to operate.

He said bills and government policies needed to be discussed and debated in the parliament for the opposition to effectively act as checks and balances.
