PKR wants to use own party logo, not Harapan’s, in GE15

PETALING JAYA, Apr 19 (Sin Chew Daily) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat has planned to use the party's own logo when contesting in the 15th general elections, instead of the Pakatan Harapan logo.

The party is currently trying to convince its allies DAP and Parti Amanah Negara to agree to this.

PKR leaders feel that the party's logo is more winnable, as proven in the 2018 general elections.

On the contrary, PH has only managed to win three of the ten by-elections since the launch of its Harapan logo.

In addition, some PKR leaders are of the opinion that the Harapan logo was used when former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia were still in the coalition, and that the PKR logo should be a better alternative.

Insiders have tipped Sin Chew Daily that PKR had mentioned this to its allies in the earlier PH presidential council meeting, but the matter was only discussed seriously during the recent PH leaders' retreat on April 8 and 9.

Anyway, the three parties did not arrive at any decision during the retreat whether to use the PKR logo in GE15.

"Our consensus was that the three PH parties will use one standard logo in the next election."

A senior PKR leader says DAP and Amanah are more inclined to use the Harapan logo.
