Disabled man receives sharp rise in orders thanks to promotion by netizen

PETALING JAYA, Apr 22 (Sin Chew Daily) — Disabled man Foo Chia Keat's fluent Malay promoting air fresheners through live stream caught the attention of a Malay netizen.

The netizen, known as Shykinn, watched Foo speak in a live streaming on Shopee with seven others on Apriln 17.

Attracted by Foo's fluent Malay and his passion promoting his products, Shykinn took a screenshot and posted it on Twitter to help Foo sell more. Shykinn wrote that a check on Foo's online shop showed that he only sold one to three products.

The tweet received overwhelming response with more than 36,000 likes and 41,000 shares.

Many took action by ordering Foo's air fresheners.

Foo, 31, who sells air fresheners through live stream on Facebook and Shopee, has since received more than 100 orders in a day and some of his products went out of stock due to the overwhelming demand.

Foo told Sin Chew Daily he started to sell air fresheners online about two years ago.

On a normal day, he only had seven to eight people watched him on live stream.

But he still had clients ordering through Shopee.

Foo, from Cheras, was shocked by the sharp increase in orders and did not expect a netizen's post to cast such a huge impact.

Apart from promoting air fresheners through live stream on Facebook and Shopee, Foo also answers queries from his clients, takes the LRT to buy stocks and then delivers the products to clients by courier.

He thanked the support he received, and said, "One must be brave and never give up!"
