PUTRAJAYA, May 7 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 4,498 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including five imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,424 new cases, followed by Sarawak (750), Kuala Lumpur (436), Johor (327), Penang (313), Kelantan (297), Kedah (209), Negeri Sembilan (188), Sabah (153) and Perak (148).

To date there are a cumulative total of 432,425 confirmed cases and 396,004 recoveries (including 3,449 discharged today) at 91.58% recovery rate.

22 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 1,632.

There are currently 34,789 active cases, including 372 at ICUs, 211 requiring ventilators.
