Missing her appointment, centenarian gets vaccinated on the spot

IPOH, June 18 (Sin Chew Daily) – 100-year-old Leong See Lan missed her appointment for COVID-19 vaccination, and her 83-year-old relative drove her to the vaccination center at Stadium Indera Mulia yesterday to inquire, with the hope she could get her first jab on the spot.

Leong's children and grandchildren are all overseas. One of her granddaughters registered her for vaccination, She subsequently got an appointment in May in KL, but no one could send her there for vaccination due to the movement control order and interstate travel ban imposed by the government.

Two days ago, the relative drove her to a private institution offering vaccination service at Jalan Kampar, but as her appointment was over, they couldn't do anything to help.

Yesterday, he tried again at Stadium Indera Mulia but was advised to make a new appointment.

"I told them her family members were not around and it was very inconvenient to take her around.

"So they took her IC and went inside to ask and finally agreed to let her do the registration on the spot," said the relative.

He said before the vaccination, he made an oversea call to Leong's son and and only made arrangements for her to get vaccinated after getting his consent."
