PUTRAJAYA, July 7 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 7,097 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 26 imported cases.

Selangor reported 3,119 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,005), Negeri Sembilan (788), Melaka (358), Sarawak (289), Pahang (258), Sabah (244), Johor (224), Kedah (198), Perak (187), Penang (140) and Kelantan (123).

To date there are a cumulative total of 799,790 confirmed cases and 719,678 recoveries (including 4,863 discharged today) at 89.98% recovery rate.

91 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 5,768.

There are currently 74,344 active cases, including 948 at ICUs, 441 requiring ventilators.
