PUTRAJAYA, July 25 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 17,045 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

Selangor reported 8,500 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,045), Kedah (1,216), Johor (950), Sabah (818), Perak (609), Penang (573), Negeri Sembilan (513), Pahang (424), Sarawak (407), Melaka (370), Terengganu (273) and Kelantan (266).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,013,438 confirmed cases and 844,541 recoveries (including 9,683 discharged today) at 83.33% recovery rate.

92 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 7,994.

There are currently 160,903 active cases, including 970 at ICUs, 501 requiring ventilators.
