SERDANG : Due to oversupply of eggs during the fasting month, an egg wholesaler here is selling 90 eggs (three trays) for RM10.

A netizen shared two photos of eggs on RedNote, a social media platform, where the wholesaler is selling at three trays for RM10 earlier and two trays for RM10 now.

Mr Liu, the wholesaler, told Sin Chew Daily that eggs are sold at promotional price due to the oversupply of chicken eggs in the fasting month.

The three trays of eggs for RM10 sold out in three days like hot cakes while RM10 for two tray of eggs are still on-going.

Liu said the shop has been selling eggs at promotional price during fasting month for years and no exception for this year.

As he posted the sale on social media, the promotion attracted non locals travel to Serdang just to buy the eggs.

He said price of eggs will be stable after the Hari Raya. In other words, this means there will be no cheap eggs then. 

A netizen also shared on social media that hypermarket NSK is selling one tray of 30 eggs at RM5.99.
