PETALING JAYA (Sin Chew Daily) — The preliminary evaluation for the inaugural Sin Chew Education Awards 2018 was held recently at Sin Chew Daily headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

K-Konsult Group Chief Executive Officer Koong Lin Loong is the chief judge.

The first round of shortlisted candidates have been selected, with a next round of evaluation to be held soon. Results will be announced in late November and shortlisted candidates will be notified by post.

Organized by Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad, the objective of Sin Chew Education Awards 2018 is to recognize the efforts and contributions of educational institutions and individuals with the hope of promoting the country’s education development.

Koong Lin Loong told
Sin Chew Daily as far as he knew, it was the first time such an educational award event had been organized by a Chinese language media company in the country.

He said in addition to private institutes of higher learning, colleges and independent high schools, the event also encompasses vocational education as well as auxiliary educational software and hardware.
