SCBEA roadshow comes to Ipoh

IPOH (Sin Chew Daily) – The second nationwide roadshow for the 7th edition of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards 2018 was held at Weil Hotel in Ipoh with an overwhelming attendance of representatives from SMEs and local community associations.

Sin Chew Daily general manager (project) cum Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards working committee chairperson Lenny Chiah explained to the participants the procedures to register for this year’s event as well as qualifications and selection criteria, among others.

Grant Thornton Malaysia senior executive director Seah Siew Yun shared with the participants the Special Voluntary Disclosure Program or SVDP, a program introduced by the government to encourage taxpayers to voluntarily file their tax returns.

The deadline for SVDP has been extended from June 30 to September 30.

Meanwhile, Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCCI) deputy president Datuk Liew Chee Ming said he hoped more companies from Perak would participate in Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards 2019 after this roadshow, adding that it would allow them to explore more business opportunities and to take their branding to the entire world.

Sin Chew Daily senior regional manager (Perak) Wong Shau Meng said it was the seventh consecutive year that the national roadshow had come to Ipoh, and he thanked PCCCI as well as local businesses for their continued support.

Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards 2019 is jointly organized by Sin Chew Daily and Sinchew.com.my.

For the past seven years, this event has evolved into a trusted brand among entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

Among the supporting partners are Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong), Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM), Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM), SME Association of Malaysia, National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia (PUCM), Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA), Asean Retail-Chains Franchise Federation (ARFF) and Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG).

Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCCI) is the regional strategic partner for the event.

This is the seventh year PCCCI has been the regional partner.

Other partners include Fine Paper Takeo Sdn Bhd, Skynet Worldwide (M) Sdn Bhd and Setia City Convention Centre.

Grant Thornton Malaysia is the auditor of this award event.

There are a total of 12 award categories this year, namely Lifetime Excellence Achievement, Business Excellence Person of the Year, Business Sustainability Excellence Award, CIMB–Sin Chew Regional Excellence Awards, Retail Excellence Award, Product Excellence Award, Business Service Excellence Award, Manufacturing Excellence Award, Digital and Technology Business Excellence Award, CSR Excellence Award, Property Excellence Award, and Young/Emerging Business Excellence Award.
