五六十年代的新村,穷人没钱买粮,就去野地山芭砍木薯,或是自种的,洗净、切片后,加一点蒜末葱头和酱油炒一会,接着,倒入适量清水煮熟,当成主食。
有时,就这样每天吃上两三餐,甚至连续整个月都是这样吃,哪像现在不少人还有“食物选择困难症候群”?

还有一款煮木薯,虽然换汤不换药,但至少是另一种味道。木薯洗净切段,加上班兰叶一块煮,香气四溢。煮过的木薯质地松软,单吃或沾点糖同吃,均好好味,既能当早餐,也可当点心。
母亲说,以前的人,还把木薯切细条,油炸成“薯条”当早餐吃,很快一扫而光,因为小孩都爱炸物啊!
当前通胀压力日益增加,说不定我们又要回去吃点木薯的日子?
